Semulov mac7/1/2023 ![]() So the way I have it setup now is I used Automator to set it up that when I use keyboard shortcut to open Photoshop, it also mounts the drive, then when I close Photoshop with the keyboard shortcut it ejects the drive. This was all new to me also.Īlso, one of the reasons I wanted to have this setup is I use the extra internal drive as a scratch disk for Photoshop and really just wanted the drive running for that. ![]() Micronics tsp143iiu, Semulov mac, Al amal indian school annual day. I choose "add shortcut" and choose the keyboard shortcuts I wanted. Then went into keyboard shortcuts and chose "services' in the left column and at the bottom of the list was the commands I saved with Automator. Then I did the same thing with Automator and used "diskutil eject /Volumes/* to eject the drive and saved it. Then I used "diskutil mount /dev/disk1s2" and saved it. Which was "disk1s2" in my case so I opened Automator and choose run shell script with no input. But for those of us in that group, Volumizer is a handy solution to a minor, but frequent, inconvenience. This command in terminal showed the disk I needed mounted. Like Ejector and Semulov, Volumizer isn’t necessary for everyone it’s mainly useful to people who work with lots of drives and disk images. ![]() Two features I’d like to see are an Eject All command for quickly unmounting all non-boot volumes, and an option to display connected volumes that aren’t currently mounted (letting you mount such a volume by choosing it from the menu). FreeSpace is a menu bar utility that lets you manage your connected drives. So I've noticed that when I'm using an external drive (so that it's not possible to normally eject the drive), Semulov returns an error somewhere along. Clicking on a volume menu will unmount/eject that volume. But if, like me, you regularly have many volumes connected, it adds quite a bit of clutter to the Dock. Semulov lists all mounted volumes in your menubar, categorized by type. If you don’t have many volumes-for example, just your startup drive and temporary volumes such as backup drives, DVDs, and disk images-this feature can be quite convenient. Clicking on a volume in the Dock opens it, while choosing Eject from the volume’s Dock menu unmounts it. There’s also an option to display all volumes in the Dock-on the left-hand (applications) side instead of the right-hand (documents and folders) side. Supports Growl unmount and mount notifications. There are plenty of other ways to open drives and volumes in OS X, but I like that Volumizer combines opening and ejecting in the same menu. Semulov List all mounted volumes in your menubar, categorized by type. For example, volume names can be found under Devices in the sidebar of a Finder application window. This information can be found by using the Terminal application command diskutil info name, where name is the volume name. You can choose to eject volumes individually or all at once. To prevent a volume from automatically mounting you need to know the filesystem type and either the volume name or volume UUID. Semulov Disk Utility (D ownload Link) OS X Yosemite 10.0. If instead of choosing the Eject option for a volume, you choose the volume itself, it’s opened in a new Finder window. Semulov shows startup and internal drives as well as external ones, disks, disk images and networks. Volumizer doesn’t have all the nifty extras of Semulov, but it does have a couple unique features of its own.
